14th World Filtration Congress in Bordeaux

PACO Impresses with Innovative Solutions and a Refreshing Cool-Down

From June 30 to July 4, 2025, the French wine city of Bordeaux became the global hub of filtration technology: the 14th World Filtration Congress (WFC) brought together a total of 735 participants from 47 countries, once again underscoring the global significance of this field.

The largest delegations came from France (190 participants), Germany (132), and China (83). In total, guests from six continents attended, with Europe accounting for the largest share at 66%, followed by Asia (23%) and North America (7%). The congress hosted 461 visitors, including 62 students. A total of 70 companies were represented by 196 exhibitors, accompanied by 78 additional industry professionals.

The scientific program was extensive: 309 contributions, including plenary sessions, keynote speeches, technical presentations, and poster sessions, provided in-depth insights into current developments in filtration. Around 200 participants came from academic institutions, highlighting the close connection between research and practical application.

PACO seized the opportunity to showcase forward-looking solutions for industrial filtration challenges. Center stage were the modular filter candle, with its interchangeable segments offering a maintenance-friendly and cost-effective solution for a wide range of applications, and the PACO star filter made of pleated metal wire mesh – particularly well-suited for use in fluidized bed dryers. Durable, CIP-capable, and sustainable, this filter offers a powerful alternative to conventional variants.

Also featured once again was the new hydrogen filtration system from HETA Verfahrenstechnik. It combines HETA’s housing technology with PACO’s high-performance filter candles and represents a cutting-edge solution for safe and efficient filtration in hydrogen transport.

A crowd favorite once again was the self-developed beer tapping system, made from PACO components, which drew enthusiastic attention from stand visitors. With peak summer temperatures exceeding 30 °C, freshly tapped PACO beer became a welcome gathering point for professional exchanges in a relaxed atmosphere.

Another highlight was the visit from the trade journal F & S – Filtrieren und Separieren, which featured PACO on the cover of its new international edition. The trade fair days were marked by personal exchanges with long-standing partners and new contacts, as well as by top-tier technical presentations.

At the conclusion of the event, the next host city was announced: the 15th World Filtration Congress will take place from September 4 to 8, 2028, at EXCO in Daegu, South Korea. The international association INDEFI will once again organize the event, now including Africa as a new member.

Overall, the 14th World Filtration Congress in Bordeaux was not only a premier technical event but also a vibrant industry gathering that impressively demonstrated the collegial spirit of the global filtration community. For PACO, it was a week full of inspiration, meaningful encounters, and memorable moments. PACO extends its thanks to all visitors, partners, and organizers.

About the World Filtration Congress

The World Filtration Congress (WFC) is one of the most important global congresses and trade fairs focused on filtration and separation processes. Held every 3 to 4 years by a member country of the International Filtration Delegates Association (INDEFI), the event centers on topics such as solid-liquid separation, gas and air filtration, membrane processes, applications in biopharmaceuticals, and sustainable, energy-efficient solutions. In addition to a comprehensive scientific program featuring lectures, posters, and expert courses, attendees can explore a large international exhibition. The congress offers a unique platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and innovation in the field of filtration technology.
